Here's Riley's pictionary drawing at our last family night:

Can you guess what it is? Don't worry, it's a noun (with a 7-year-old imagination) not a verb.
I thought it was funny.
Brielle has made the connection that my name is "Mama" and Richard is "Daddy". It's cute to hear her first words. I can't say for sure which one came first. Daddy is doing a great job being a big part of her life!

We've been playing at different parks a couple of mornings each week religiously this year. It's probably been my favorite part of our weekly routine because the kids are so happy when they are playing outside and I feel like a better mom for taking them. We go whether it's cold or warm, sprinkle or shine. I don't take them if it's pouring rain, but a little sprinkle doesn't stop us. Some days we are the only people at the park and it's really fun and special to have the whole place to ourselves. Often I have to bring a towel with me to dry off some of the swings and slides. I love that I'm teaching my kids to learn how to enjoy the outdoors and hopefully they will learn that if you dress for the weather you can be enjoy the outdoors year-round. Actually, I haven't had to "teach" them to love the outdoors. They are always excited to go!
The other day we were at a park next to a wooded area. The kids love to play in the "woods" when we go to this particular park. Ashton was acting a little strange so I asked him what he was doing. His response was, "I'm looking for the golden plates." I got a good laugh out of that! It's good he has made the connection that the golden plates were hidden in the woods.
Tonight we were reading scriptures with the kids, which we do at bedtime, and the scripture we were discussing was about the Holy Ghost. We were talking about what the Holy Ghost does and Heleena said, "The Holy Ghost helps me to know what is right" and then she sang those words. They are part of one of their primary songs called
As a Child of God. I love how the primary songs teach them so many gospel principles. It's pretty cute to hear a three year old sing her way into the conversation and to make the connection between the words in the song and the principles we teach out of the scriptures. I have the BEST job!
